HMRC launches guidance update for Money Laundering Regulations

HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) has published new guidance for businesses registering under the Money Laundering Regulations 2007. The guidance affects Trust or Company Service Providers (TCSPs) and Accountancy Service Providers (ASPs). TCSPs and ASPs which have not yet applied to register with HMRC must now submit their applications by 30 September 2008. The clarified guidance will help businesses decide whether they need to register with HMRC. The Government department will be writing to TCSPs and ASPs which have applied to register to inform them of the updated guidance.
