Keep farm vehicles properly maintained, warns HSE
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is warning farmers in Kent to ensure their farm vehicles and machinery are properly maintained during this year's cultivation and harvesting period. The next six to eight weeks will see the HSE and the Vehicle & Operator Services Agency (VOSA), along with Kent police, carry out inspections on farm vehicles, in fields and on the roads. The HSE is promoting the British Agricultural and Garden Machinery Association's vehicle health check scheme during any checks taken. The HSE says farm vehicles and machinery have caused 22 serious injuries and four deaths across Kent within the past five years. Read more on this story at:
