Director given community service after construction death


A company director has been given community service after the death of a construction worker. After pleading guilty to charges brought against him under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, the director was ordered to complete 100 hours of community service and ordered to pay £6,000 costs. He had been working with his employee to demolish a reinforced concrete roof when the employee was fatally crushed by the roof as it fell.
