Firms not encrypting data
Not all businesses using wireless local area networks (WLANS) are
encrypting their traffic, according to a report by RSA Security. The
firm said up to a quarter of businesses failed to do so, and the lack of
precautions opened them up to data theft, identity theft and denial of
service attacks. Businesses are being advised to ensure that data is
encrypted, both on laptops and when it is passing through a network.
